Thurman was brought up in the church and participated in all the church activities; however, it wasn’t until much later in life that he truly accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and has been a faithful and dedicated servant since. Thurman began his Christian service at Community Missionary Baptist Church while living in Texas. Upon relocating to North Carolina, Thurman and Mildred quickly found a new church home from which to continue worshipping and serving the Lord.
Thurman became a member of Body of Christ Church, where he served in the ministries of Warrior Passage (a mentoring program for young men), AWANA, small group facilitator for 11 years, missions here at home and in Nicaragua, and was ordained and served as a Deacon from 2009-2013.
Thurman is and has been a faithful servant at Covenant Life Fellowship since its inception. He was instrumental in starting the Sunday School program where he taught until the church went virtual. Thurman faithfully serves on the CLF Executive Ministry Board, in the Deacons ministry, as the treasurer/ financial secretary, and serving as the audio visual and broadcast streaming lead.
Thurman is currently enrolled at North Eastern Regional Bible College where he seeks his bachelor’s degree in Theology.
I believe “I must work the works of Him who has sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work” John 9:4.
